Carnivore Challenge Update Week 8
Yo-Yo Aboard Sea Boss
The weather has been nasty for most of the last couple of weeks, so I took some time off from walking. Instead, I incorporated bodyweight resistance training into my routine. Aboard Sea Boss, we have a set of stairs that lead from the gallery to the suites below deck. I use the stairs for box steps. Also, I added pushups (I suck at pushups, at least for now) air squats, side lunges, laying leg lifts, and crunches.
Around the time I retired, and in conjunction with falling off the keto wagon, I was experiencing major menopause symptoms. My hormones were completely out of whack and as time went on, I was losing muscle mass. In particular, I noticed it the most in my arms. Incorporating resistance training into my routine has been one of the best things I have done regarding exercise. I have hated the way my arms look for some time now and I am finally doing something about it. And it feels amazing.
Workercise
While I was still working long haul and making deliveries, my arms would get a serious workout. There were a couple of types of trailers I hauled. One was an open trailer. I would often hang from the frame 10 feet above the ground to loosen the clamps that held the shells onto the trailer. With the enclosed box trailers, the shells were attached to heavy metal bars. I had to slide each of the shells to the back of the trailer to offload.

Until I started Carnivore, I honestly don’t think I could have done my old job the way I did it before. I definitely would have to work smarter.
The proper human diet (Carnivore diet) is perfectly balanced to allow your body to heal. While eating a carnivore diet and eating one gram of protein for every pound of your ideal weight. IE: If your ideal weight is 135 lbs, then you consume 135 grams of protein per day. By doing so, you can more easily build and repair muscle tissue. When you don’t eat carbs, your body converts fat into ketones to use as energy. It is a much more efficient energy process without the inflammation caused by carbohydrates.
YO-Yo
Now I remember why I hate scales. This last week my weight was a Yoyo. One day it would be 145.7 lbs, then it would be 146.6 lbs, and then back to 145.7 lbs. My smart scale is an idiot, but I’m learning to be okay with it. I’m learning to use other tools to track my progress. If you are on a weight loss journey, I highly recommend getting a tailor’s tape. The scale will sooner or later Yoyo on you, even when you do everything and I mean do everything right. And when you lose inches, it confirms you are still on the right path.
