Pen to Paper- Writing, Research, Riding, Editing

What activities do you lose yourself in?

I took a two years off from writing the second book in the Roxxy Foxx Series, first to look for our boat and then to refurbish her.

Back to Work

Now that I can take a breath and a break from constantly working on the boat, I have been enjoying pen to paper, if you will.

In reality, I only put “pen to paper” with writing my books. A habit I started when I was a long haul driver.

I would put a notebookon my lap and write for hours. The hardest part was at the end of my shift, transferring what I had written into my laptop. I obviously couldn’t look at what I was writing.. Sometimes the lines were scribbled and needed decoding.

Non-Fiction Self Help/Health Articles

To help me get back into the habit of daily writing, I have been publishing nonfiction short stories/articles. One is of my carnivore journey, with weekly updates on my results. Sharing my weight loss, blood glucose, blood pressure and measurements. Along with a health hack that I have researched, for an example, the “Big 6 Lymphatic Massage”.

Non-Fiction Short Stories

“The Road to Sturgis” is my story of becoming a member of the Guinness World Record Book. Me and 143 of my closest friends rode our motorcycles from Port Charlotte, Florida to Sturgis, South Dakota on a 3602 mile Poker Run. For the “World Record Piker Run”.

Each day’s ride presented unique challenges, scenery, triumphs, and setbacks. Sometimes I rode the 500 plus miles in the day as a lone wolf. On other days, I rode with my pack.

Private Investigator

Another nonfiction short story I have been writing is “The Search for Linnea Lomax”.

This is also a true story. During a brief career transition, I worked as a private investigator. During this time, a young girl went missing, Linnea Lomax. I excelled at finding people who seem to fall off the face of the earth. A friend of mine called and asked if I would help. So I donated my time for the next 74 days searching for Linnea Lomax. Sometimes in the worst likely places that you could imagine.

Another thing I could lose myself in is editing. I have a small YouTube channel to document our travel and adventures, https://youtube.com/@bellsridesaboardseaboss

Which I took a year off from this as well. I am passionate about filming and editing but it is very time consuming. Luckily, I filmed much of the work we did on our boat. Maybe I can use it for the channel.

I have found myself looking forward to the daily prompts. I enjoy having a cup of coffee and joining you all in the daily prompts. Sharing mine and reading yours. Thank you.
